Fed: Howard says not aware of Woodside announcement today = 2

Mr Howard said he and Mr Costello had extensive discussions about Woodside, but would
not say whether they had disagreed on the issue.

When asked if there was any disagreement, he said: "They have been wide-ranging, full
and frank (discussions).

"You shouldn't take it as anything other than what I have said."

Mr Howard said he and Mr Costello had a broad measure of agreement, and their views
on economic matters were very close.

"But it would be very strange if you had a treasurer and a prime minister agreeing
on every single thing," he said.

"That reference was made not in reference, incidentally, to Shell and Woodside, it's
made generally.

"I wouldn't have much respect for a treasurer of mine who agreed with everything I said."
