Vic: Anzac Day closures
MELBOURNE, April 23 AAP - The Victorian government today reminded retailers of the
requirement to observe restricted trading hours for Anzac Day.
Most shops in the state would be required to close from 12.01pm until 1pm on Tuesday.
Exemptions applied to shops such as booksellers and newsagents, bread shops and chemists.
Retailers breaching the Shop Trading reform Act faced a fine of $10,000, Premier John
Brumby said.
Anzac Day was a day of special significance to a great number of Australians, Mr Brumby said.
"I urge affected retailers to respect the meaning of these days."
